Resin driveways in Somerset

Smooth, low-maintenance resin surfaces for driveways, paths and patios, in a choice of aggregate colours.

Chilcompton Tarmac Driveway with Gravel Parking Spaces

There are two kinds of resin surface, and it is worth knowing the difference. With resin bonded, aggregate is scattered over a thin layer of resin. This creates a long-lasting, low-maintenance surface with non-slip properties — ideal for steep driveways.

Resin bound is the better of the two. The aggregate is mixed with resin and screeded to a compact, level surface. It is long lasting, low maintenance and permeable, so it is SuDS compliant, and there is a wide choice of aggregate sizes, shapes and colours.

As with all our driveways, the finish is only as good as the base, so we prepare the ground and edging properly before any resin goes down.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between resin bound and resin bonded?

Resin bound mixes the stones into the resin for a smooth, permeable surface. Resin bonded scatters stones over a layer of resin for a textured, non-slip finish that is not permeable.

Is a resin driveway permeable?

Resin bound is permeable, which helps with drainage and usually avoids the need for planning permission on front gardens. Resin bonded is not permeable.
