Reclaimed Yorkstone Paving and New Natural Stone Walling

The frontage of this stone cottage was an overgrown mix of gravel, broken edging and patchy planting beside the lane.

We cleared and excavated the area and laid reclaimed Yorkstone flags, chosen and dry-laid in the yard first to get the pattern right. New natural stone walling with a traditional upright coping was built around the corner, with inspection covers recessed into the paving.

A new kerb line and tarmac edge were laid along the road side to give a crisp finish. The reclaimed stone suits the age of the cottage and gives it a character that new paving could not.
